There are only 19 days to go to the Commonwealth Games so we thought we should let you know about where you can see Fish & Game over Festival 2014.
The Conference Call of the Birds is a new 20 for 14 commission from Creative Scotland. Eilidh MacAskill is creating a celebration of the National Birds that represent the Commonwealth Nations. It’s created with award-winning composer Greg Sinclair (who created the soundworld for the Polar Bears) and invites you, the audience, to take on the role of the birds who can’t make it to Glasgow. There will be three performances on 24th July on Glasgow Green and then more performances in Edinburgh in August as part of Forest Fringe and the Edinburgh International Art Festival.
Everyone’s A Winner, Baby! We’ll have two teams out and about in the city looking for winners during the games. We’ll raise you onto the winner’s podium, hand you a trophy and champagne, and get the crowd to cheer you on for the perfect moment of glory.
Cargo, Camera, Action! Eilidh reprises her Bicycle Boom performance as part of Glasgow Film Theatre’s riverside cinema takeover, Cargo, Camera, Action! 85A will be creating live interactive films at the Clyde Amphitheatre and Eilidh’s Lady Cyclist will be extolling the virtues of the bicycle while showing off her new, bicycle-mounted mutoscope – a replica flipbook viewer showing a specially-commissioned film of female cyclists.
