Nov 2018 18

Just a quick update as we near the end of 2018…

The Polar Bears (who are off on their own adventures at have been touring internationally to Canada, USA, and China with The Polar Bears Go Up and are looking forward to playing closer to home at Perth Theatre this Christmas. They’ll be performing for 2-5s, 12th-23rd December at 11:30 and 13:30 with extra 15:30 shows at the weekend. More info and tickets here

We were really pleased that Everyone’s A Winner, Baby! had another outing this summer as part of the European Championships Festival 2018, which saw our great performers seeking out winners both at George Square and Merchant Square. Always great to meet wonderful winners….

Bears in America!
Oct 2017 24

Feels like we’re only just back from Australia but soon we’ll be jumping back on a jetplane to take us the other way around the world to the USA!

In January of this year we were honoured to be part of the IPAY showcase in Madison, Wisconsin. It was great and we made new friends, ate lots of delicious pancakes, took part in the Women’s March and wore hats made of cheese. But also our lovely agents, Kids’ Entertainment, were able to start booking up dates for us in North America.

So in a few short weeks we’ll be flying across the pond to begin a 5-week tour starting in Nashville and ending up in New York. If you happen to be around or know anyone who would like to see two friendly bears chase a runaway balloon up to space, then here are the details:

Tennessee Performing Arts Centre, Nashville, TN : 13-17 November

Arts Center of the Ozarks, Springdale, AR : 20-22 November

KRESA, Kalamazoo, MI : 27 Nov-1 December

Lincoln Center, New York, NY : 6-17 December

We’re very excited to see how the American audiences enjoy the show and to have a little bear road trip. Look out for lots of photos on our Polar Bear Instagram @PolarBearsTheatre

The Polar Bears had a wonderful time in Perth, Western Australia, presenting The Polar Bears Go Up as part of the aptly-named AWESOME Festival. The bears were very well looked after by all the festival staff and especially the great team at the lovely Heath Ledger Theatre at the State Theatre Centre of WA. It was a big space, but the audiences were so warm and giggly that it felt very intimate.

After the shows we had some fun times with other artists like Shona Reppe who was presenting Potato Needs A Bath; Madame Lark aka Christine Johnston who will be making a new show with Shona supported by Imaginate; and Daan Mathot and Udo Akemann from Belgium who have the great show, Deep.

And we were very lucky to receive these great reviews too:

They’re already creating a buzz with The Guardian adding the show to their recommendations list: more here. Lyn Gardner says, “the clowning is terrific for any age group…the bears are endearingly loveable…lovely work.”
